Tropical Depression Juaning: Latest Update of PAGASA, July 26, 2011

Juaning,” the latest Tropical Depression to hit the country, is 130km East of Virac, Catanduanes (14.5°N 125.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center as of 4:00 am today as reported by PAGASA, July 26, 2011.




As reported, Tropical Depression Juaning is forecasted to move West Northwest at 17 kph as areas in Northern Luzon and the Eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will have occasional gusty winds.



PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) has raised Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 (PSWS#1) in the following areas:

·         Ilocos Norte

·         Ilocos Sur

·         Abra

·         Apayao

·         Kalinga

·         Cagayan

·         Isabela

·         Ifugao

·         Mt. Province

·         La Union

·         Pangasinan

·         Benguet

·         Nueva Vizcaya

·         Nueva Ecija

·         Quirino

·         Aurora

·         Quezon

·         Polillo Island

·         Catanduanes

·         Sorsogon

·         Albay

·         Camarines Provinces


As noted, with the widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms, PAGASA warns of possible flashfloods and landslides in low lying and mountainous areas.
