"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2" broke another record in the box-office as it tops $92.1 million in its first full day at the theaters declared distributor Warner Bros. as reported by various entertainment news sites July 16, 2011.
It was reported that after “Harry Potter” made a milestone by having a record of most tickets sold during midnight showings, the last movie in the “Harry Potter” series accomplished another feat as it went on to break the box-office record after grossing $92.1 million on its first full day in theaters.
Apparently, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2" surpassed the previous record for first day box-office gross held by "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which earned $72.7 million in its debut on a Friday in 2009.
As noted, with its current trending it is very much possible for “Harry Potter” to go on to smash another record Sunday if it passes the $158.4-million mark for a three-day domestic opening which is presently owned by 2008's "The Dark Knight."
