Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks just need another win to secure first NBA title in 31-years of franchise history and the only things standing in the way are LeBron James and Dwyane Wade as reported in various sports sites, June 12, 2011.
As reported, the Mavericks can end their title drought come game six as they lead the series 3-2 in their best-of-seven NBA Finals against “King” James’ Miami Heat.
Nowitzki was quoted in a report saying, “When you don’t win, criticism comes with it.”
“That’s just a part of the game. If you’re the star or the face of the franchise and if you win, it’s great for you, and everybody looks at you and if you lose, you’re going to get hammered. I got hammered the last 13 years. So hopefully this year I hope I can make the hammering go away for one year,” he adds.
Meanwhile, further reports reveal that, in game five Wade apparently injured his left hip but said he will be fine come game six.
Wade reportedly said, “This is just another day of getting treatment and getting rest.”
“I’ll be totally fine when it comes to tomorrow. No extra padding,” he adds.
